ACOFAS - Nesta

Okay, I just finished ACOFAS and I liked it. I had read alot of bashing about it, so much so that I considered skipping it. I'm so glad I didn't. Yes, nothing momentous or heart pounding happens, but it felt like it a real rounding out of the characters. I mean, not every minute of a person (faeries) life can be spent in mortal danger. It actually made me like the characters even more. One point - and I might be flayed for this - but is anyone else sick.to.death. of Nesta's unrelenting nastiness? Get over yourself. You are just becoming a seriously unlikeable bitch..... Imho

Future Books

Does anybody think the spin off series will continue feyre and rhysand's story? I saw another post that said ACOWAR was the last of their story? Also does anybody know when the next book will come out?

I think that Nesta going to the Illyrian mountains will be the best thing that happens to her, and the girls/women there. She is hard as nails...not to mention that mysterious power that's been hinted at.

She's also got a severe case of PTSD... of guilt (she watched the father she hated for most of her life get killed...right after finding out that he loved them/her so much...that he finally got up and did something for them...and in such a grand way).

Then she watched probably the only man/male she's ever truly cared about almost get killed.

Freya said it best. Nesta feels everything deeply, and I think that is why she has been hit so hard by the events of the series. Then there's Cassian....I do not think there could be a more perfect mate for him than Nesta. And him...her. She's strong, hard, fierce and has proven that she was willing to give up her life protecting him and her sisters.

That strength of hers is what is going to finally push the females in the Illyrian camp to be stronger and more assertive. Nesta will get to work off that edge and work through her demons and fear there also.

Cassian and Nesta to me are different sides of the same coin. They mask their pain with ferocity, anger and both of them are innately strong-willed and powerful.

I cant wait to see what the next instalment brings.

So i was thinking about acotar specifically, and about why amarantha was obsessing over Tamlin and I had a hypothesis that she and him were mates, but bc he has a literal heart of stone he can't actually feel love or notice the mate bond. I think he just latched onto feyre bc it was a mix of: having a trophy concubine, having proof that he destroyed amarantha, a sense of guilt over having her killed, and that he was trying to fall in love with her to break the curse, but had no idea what to do, so instead of dumping her, he stayed with her to keep up appearances with the courts. But this would explain why amarantha went so berserk over having tamlin, bc she was feeling the mate bond, and just overly expressed her "notice me senpai" feelings. What do y'all think?

Elriel v. Elucien (Spoiler warning for TOG series as well)

Sarah J Maas doesnt do things for no reason, and every little thing written means something. So why Feyre's Rant about Elain and Azriel being better as mates? (ACOWAR before court of nightmares visit) BECAUSE SHE IS TRYING TO HINT TO US THE TRUTH!!! Look how azriel acts around elain. No shadows to be found, and HE GIVES HER HIS DAGGER!!! The only other person who drives his shadows away is Mor, so that cements his feelings for her. As for her feelings to him, that's some what harder to see, but ACOFAS does give us some instances of this *cough* headache medicine *cough*. But you are probably still hugging the elephant in the room, saying "Elain and Lucien are Mates and have a mating bond", to which I say sure, but IS IT REAL??? In Empire of Storms over in the TOG series, it is revealed that the big bad guy (Maeve) was able to, with the extent of her power, TRICK A MALE INTO BELIEVING HE HAD FOUND HIS MATE!!! I now ask you, where was Lucien when he declared Elain was his mate? Hybern. What Fae nation has a powerful king who has insane power( I.e. breaking a bargain)? Hybern. And finally, who was the only person in the room not held at bay? Lucien, who was also yelling at the king for bringing two innocents into this.(Cassian was incapacitated, Mor held back by Azriel, Rhys and Tamlin concerned with feyre, Feyre fearing for her sisters, for the record.) My conclusion is that ACOTAR book #6 (#5 looks to be A court of WE ARE SHIPPING NESSIAN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!!), the mating bond Lucien feels will be revealed as fake and Elriel will shine through.
But hey... that's just my two cents.

Spin Off Stories

Do you guys think people like Lucien/Tamlin, Rhys' inner circle (Maybe when they were all younger), Amren, and the mortal queens (Mainly Vassa) deserve their own side stories to flesh out their characters?
Who deserves their own story more?
  • Lucien
  • Tamlin
  • Amren
  • Inner Circle
