A Court of Thorns and Roses is a series of books by Sarah J. Maas which retells multiple fairy tales including The Beauty and the Beast and Hades and Persephone with faerie lore.

The trilogy focuses on the tale of Feyre, as she is brought into the faerie lands of Prythian, after murdering a faerie.

On 11 November 2015, it was announced that Tempo Productions have optioned A Court of Thorns and Roses for film.

On the 12 July 2016, Entertainment Weekly announced that Sarah J. Maas is writing six new books for the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, not including the first three novels of the series. One of the six books with be a coloring book, which will release in 2017. Two novellas will also be published, along with three novels which will be set before and after the first three books.
